Sofía Jirau Facts

Puerto Rican model born on March 26, 1996, in Puerto Rico to Frankie Jirau and Mimi Gonzalez. She is the second eldest of four children.
iaru commenced her career in modeling in her home-country Puerto Rico on March 26, 2019. Subsequently, she made her New York Fashion Week debut the following year. Ever since, she has modeled for a number of high-end designers. Besides, following her debut at New York Fashion Week, the model aspires to “conquer the runways in Europe in 2022”.
Sofia swept the fashion industry by surprise on February 10, 2020, when she walked in one of the world’s most prestigious fashion events, New York Fashion Week. Accordingly, Jirau is one of the few Down syndrome models who have been able to attend the prestigious fashion show.
Miss Jirau became in 2019, launching her first online store called “Alavett” following her popular and favorite phrase “I love it”. She is currently a signed model for Victoria’s Secret and has been diagnosed with down syndrome.
Jirau was chosen to be the Ambassador of Experiences in the Puerto Rican company INprende.
Sofía considers American actress, singer, and dancer Jennifer Lopez to be her fashion idol.
