    Waka Flocka Flame Facts

    Juaquin James Malphurs (born May 31, 1986), known professionally as Waka Flocka Flame, is an American rapper.
    His name Waka was inspired by his favorite Muppet character named Fozzie Bear. The latter Flocka Flame was given to him by Gucci Mane. He grew up in Jamaica, Queens NY with his four brothers and sister. His father was in jail through most of Waka Flocka’s childhood and his mother settled in Riverdale when he was about 11.
    In October 2014, he was arrested for 2 hours at Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport for the possession of loaded handgun.
    He took the name of his debut album Flockaveli from an Italian political theorist Machiavelli.
    His mom is his role model.
    Waka’s mother Debra Antney has been a huge inspiration in his life. His mixtapes have been received very well by his fans and all 3 singles he released before “Flockaveli” were big hits.
